The Bingley Gallery\u2019s latest exhibition features Aire-Valley-based artist Leyla Murr. Leyla is a predominantly abstract artist, working both from her Eldwick home and The Dockfield Road Creative Arts Hub in Shipley. Originally from Zagreb, Croatia, her artistic training was provided by British and European tutors. Not surprisingly her work has an international appeal and can be found in collections across the world.<\/p>\n
Leyla’s new work in her latest exhibition reflects her daily walks on the Moors around Bingley and expresses the escapism which is of universal importance in these times. ‘I felt the pulse of nature previously taken for granted and appreciated the beauty and abundance of mystery and inspiration given….\u00a0 My abstract Landscapes offer no direct representation of their subjects but of my inner feelings, with the fluid space of uncertainty created in my studio. These paintings represent some of my favourite walks at different times of the day and varied weather conditions.\u2019<\/p>\n
Lockdown also presents challenges in exhibiting work. Although Leyla\u2019s Paintings can be found on-line, the Bingley Gallery is making a point of using its window to provide a place where passers-by, during daily exercise or going about other essential business, can see a selection of her work in its full glory. Due to Lockdown there is no public launch or admittance to the gallery at present but art works can be purchased by contacting the gallery and arranging distanced collection or delivery. Leyla has generously allowed the gallery to price the works below what would be asked in other outlets to allow local art collectors an added incentive to acquire an example of her work<\/p>\n
