Amy Charlesworth<\/p>\n<p>Amy is a Bradford born painter who has worked and exhibited her hyperrealist paintings in Bingley, for many years, building up a reputation as a distinctive and original artist.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_gallery admin_label=&#8221;AC Gallery&#8221; gallery_ids=&#8221;4139,4001,2557,3998,3997,3996&#8243; posts_number=&#8221;15&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.20.2&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_gallery][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;SM Text&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.20.2&#8243; background_color=&#8221;#000000&#8243;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Suzanne McQuade <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Suzanne\u2019s art is Inspired by the beautiful and diverse coast and countryside of our region, in particular, those places where she experiences peace and tranquility. Her aim is to convey these emotions to the viewer through her painting; allowing them, to take a moment to explore the scene and gain the feeling of space which she has experienced.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Suzanne is a watercolour painter in the classic tradition, but despite her many years\u2019 experience still has respect for what she describes as \u2018a tricky medium\u2019. The process starts with washes of paint on wet paper which allow the paint to move and merge \u2013 it\u2019s unpredictability can be frustrating at times, but serendipitously rewarding at others &#8211; allowing light to shine through the translucent elements of the paint. As the work progresses, the artist gains more control, building up the intensity of colour before finally painting in the fine details. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_gallery admin_label=&#8221;SM Gallery&#8221; gallery_ids=&#8221;3957,3955,3956,3958,3959,3960&#8243; posts_number=&#8221;10&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;3.20.2&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_gallery][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;JB Text&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.20.2&#8243; background_color=&#8221;#000000&#8243;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><strong>Josie Barraclough<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Scarborough born Josie, attended Batley Art College followed by Huddersfield and Leeds Universities before pursuing a full-time career in illustration and graphic design. Her art was further developed during extensive travelling and working overseas including Australia and the Far East.&nbsp; Josie who is influenced and energised by light and colour creates pieces that are a direct response to her surroundings. Inspired by experiences whilst travelling her subject work draws mainly on naturalistic elements landscapes, botanical and still life \u2013 finding that it\u2019s often a tiny item of information which spurs a series of paintings.<\/p>\n<p>Her work has developed in an expressive style in a variety of media \u2013 predominantly oil on canvas and is powerful both in subject matter and colour. Her latest work reflects familiar natural themes, recognisable form, colour and texture. Originally from Zagreb, Croatia, her artistic training, provided by British and European tutors, allowed her to turn professional 15 years ago. His vibrant and highly colourful work merges figurative and abstract elements to produce visually striking and entirely contemporary paintings. All works are originals, painted in acrylic on canvas. He has painted and drawn all his life mainly in oils and pastels. It is always something a bit special; a chance for regular exhibitors to prepare new work, the past year\u2019s soloists to return with potential Christmas offerings and to give space to new artists who have caught the eye during the year. The front exhibition space in the gallery may have as many as 20 artists work on show. There is always a little uncertainty as to what turns up on installation day, but an eclectic mix can be expected, with no themes, no tonal co-ordination- and a huge range of media- a true Christmas Variety Show, with something to suit all tastes. With concerns over the global supply chain in the run up to Christmas, it is good to know that locally produced goods are still available, with the additional benefits of minimal, transport-related, carbon emissions, support for local producers, and the survival of independent retailers. The Bingley Gallery, has been based on Park Road, Bingley for the past 15 years, originally under the ownership of Jane Fielder and more recently by David Starley.
