Jack Hellewell (1920-2000)
Born in Bradford and attended Bradford School of Art then worked as a graphic designer. After the death of his wife in 1976 he gave up his employment to become a freelance artist. He painted in an expressionist style. He lived in Ilkley and based much of his work on the landscape around Wharfedale. Exhibited work included the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions.
