John C Pighills -1943-2025

The son of the well know artist, Joe Pighills, John was a prolific painter in his own right, largely self-taught, but presumably heavily influenced by his father and watercolour views of the moorland around his home in Marsh near Oxenhope predominate. There’s a cleaner, more contemporary look to his work, for those who find his father’s work a little gloomy. When the Bingley gallery had it’s first showing of earlier Bradford artists in 2023, John came along and shared anecdotes about his father.
