Kenneth (Ken) McBurney 1944-2006
Born near Barnsley, Ken moved to Bradford with his parents, living at North Park Road, near Lister Park. After school he studied at Bradford School of art, then worked as a freelance artist, painting regional and urban scenes. The Haworth area, where he later lived, is the location of much of his work, which often focusses on run down vernacular buildings.
The paint, or other media, was generally applied with his fingers and rags, apparently, he considering that brushes got between him and the subject.
