Richard Gibson   Wold Wire Sculpture

Brought up in the Yorkshire Wolds, Richard has had a lifelong interest in nature, but also sculpture, though it seemed to take some time for him to move on from taxidermy. Perhaps both art forms rely on bringing the appearance of life and movement from inert materials. The open wire sculptures however have a lightness of form that make them so appealing.

d Fused Glass

Pat Beard is a versatile artist, previously working in textiles and ceramics she has more recently turned her talents to fused glass. This ancient process, dating back to antiquity is brought up to date using a modern materials and imagination to give a very contemporary feel, with a luminosity not achievable in other media. Each piece is individually created and fired in a kiln to approximately 800 Celsius creating a durable and unique art-piece. With a fondness for experimentation two pieces are ever the same.
