ON sAT 29 jUNE WE WILL BE PART OF THE FIRST BINGLEY OPEN STUDIOS EVENT

 

iN THE GALLERY Jochen Gren and Rose Jollands, will be here to talk about their exhibition ‘The Way We See. The Way We Make’ and to demonstrate their techniques. David Starley will be in his studio working on a new oil painting.

For those who enjoy ‘Artist of the Year’ type TV programs, across the Road at Bingley Baptist Church Hub you can drop in on Jake Atree’s art class (10-1pm) or, for those who wan’t to brush up on their skills, join it fully at a cost of £10. Around the corner in the Damart Mill canteen, members of the award winning Bingley Camera Club will set of a studio to photograph visitors and to provide advice  camera, camera phone and portraiture techniques. Members’ work will also be on show.

Down in Town The  Craft House has a showing of Bob Cooper’s work and Paula Dunn, painter of wonderfully atmospheric Yorkshire scenes will welcome visitors to her studio. Further afield, Michele Russell will be opening her garden studio in Harden.

The event, together with venues in Thornton and Haworth was set up as an extension of a Keighley Creative event, since cancelled, . The aim is to build on this for a much larger event in 2025, so we welcome contact from artists willing to take part in that.
