Perhaps no landscape of West Yorkshire is so iconic as our heather-clad moorland. It’s been inspiring writers and artists for generations and amongst our current generation few painters bring out its brooding beauty quite as effectively as Judith Levin. Although her subject matter, can be far more varied, she seems drawn to return to the big open spaces and reproducing them on canvases that require a transit van to deliver them, down to tiny works, little larger than a postcard.

The open spaces have a special poignancy after lockdown this year and the opening up of galleries has provided further stimulus. As Judith says ‘I’m delighted to be having another exhibition at the Bingley Gallery, especially after so much solitary time in the studio.
